This Privacy Policy explains how TRLR (“TRLR”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TRLR mobile app and related services (the “Service”) — a personal diary and community for tracking the TV shows and movies you watch.
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health information, or information about your race or ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We send you only transactional and account-related email (such as verification and password resets) — we do not send marketing email.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
On the web version of the Service, we use a single strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. In the mobile app, your session is stored securely on your device rather than with cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We share information only as needed to run the Service, with service providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Content you make public — such as a public list, review, or your profile — may be visible to other users or via share links. Private content is not shown in these previews.
We operate the Service using infrastructure located in the United States. If you access TRLR from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Show and movie metadata and artwork are provided by TheTVDB. Browsing the catalog does not send your personal information to TheTVDB.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data as described below, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Residual copies may remain in our secure backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time, directly in the app: go to Settings → Delete account and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your account, your content, and your personal data are removed right away.
If you can no longer access the app, you can instead email hello@trlr.app from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account.” We will permanently delete your account and confirm once it is done; this typically completes within 30 days.
Passwords are stored hashed, connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to production data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
TRLR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following legal bases: to perform our contract with you (providing your account and the Service); our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse, and improving it); your consent (for example, push notifications, which you can withdraw at any time); and to comply with a legal obligation where one applies.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@trlr.app. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, which will not affect processing we already carried out. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the app.
